Job Summary:

The Pre-Sales Engineer will work alongside the sales team, acting as the technical expert during the sales process. You will be responsible for understanding client needs, demonstrating how our SaaS solutions can meet those needs, and providing in-depth technical support during the evaluation and implementation phases. Your role will involve tailoring product demonstrations, addressing technical queries, and ensuring prospects have a clear understanding of how our solutions integrate within their current technology stack.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise: Act as the technical subject matter expert for our SaaS solutions, understanding the product’s architecture, capabilities, and use cases in depth.

Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the sales team to identify and address technical requirements, deliver product demonstrations, and provide technical input during sales pitches.

Solution Design: Analyze customer needs, identify pain points, and propose tailored solutions using our software products. Provide detailed technical responses to RFPs and RFIs.

Product Demonstrations: Conduct customized product demonstrations to showcase how the platform can solve specific client challenges, emphasizing key features and functionality.

Proof of Concept (PoC): Work with customers to build and deliver PoCs, guiding them through implementation steps to ensure successful trials.

Technical Consultations: Provide ongoing technical advice and consultation throughout the sales process, acting as the key liaison between the client and product development teams for technical clarifications.

Client Interactions: Lead technical discussions with clients’ IT teams, answering complex questions about software capabilities, integrations, and security measures.

Training & Handover: Support the onboarding and training of new customers to ensure they are well-equipped to use the platform post-sale. Collaborate with Customer Success and Support teams to ensure smooth handover.

Feedback Loop: Gather client and prospect feedback on technical requirements and relay this information to the product development and engineering teams to help inform future product improvements.

Market Insights: Stay up to date with industry trends, customer challenges, and competitor offerings to help the sales team effectively position our solutions.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3+ years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Consultant role within a B2B SaaS or technology environment.

• Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, APIs, and cloud-based technologies.

• Experience with product demonstration and building Proof of Concepts (PoCs).

• Proven ability to understand customer technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficiency with technical tools and platforms, as well as CRM and sales software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with enterprise SaaS products and integrations (e.g., APIs, web services).

• Familiarity with security protocols, compliance standards, and data privacy regulations.

• Knowledge of specific verticals or industries relevant to the company’s product.
