Staff Engineer

🚀 Staff Engineer / Principal Engineer (Agentic AI / TypeScript) – Member of Technical Staff

We’re partnered with a well-funded AI automation company ($10M+ raised at Seed, close to Series A) building intelligent agents for complex, real-world workflows. They have a team of MIT Alumni and engineers from global brands such as Meta, Microsoft & Amazon.

As the platform scales, they’re looking for a senior engineer with strong architectural judgment and real-world AI systems experience. This is a Staff / Principal-level role with meaningful ownership over product and AI architecture.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical direction across AI and platform systems
• Evaluate product, architectural and model-level options before committing
• Design and build scalable systems using TypeScript, Node, Nest/Express, React, Next
• Work on: APIs, SDKs and no-code automation tools
• Build and operate AI systems: Prompts, evaluations, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows
• Full Infra & Distributed systems: Event (Pipelines, Streaming, Queues), Workflows, Durable Execution, Data Pipelines
• Drive quality through design docs, reviews, and prior art research
• Mentor engineers and improve team-wide architectural decision-making

 

Requirements

• Staff / Principal-level engineer with a track record of leading complex systems
• Deep TypeScript experience across backend and frontend
• Experience building production AI systems (prompts, evals, RAG, agents)
• Strong system design breadth with sound trade-off judgment
• Reliable, thoughtful collaborator who elevates team decisions
