Job Summary:

As a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving sales success by delivering compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution architecture guidance to prospective clients. You will serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME) throughout the sales cycle, working closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure the solution aligns with customer needs. Your ability to bridge the gap between customer requirements and our SaaS product capabilities will be essential for driving revenue growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise & Product Demonstrations: Serve as the primary technical resource during the sales process, delivering product demonstrations, answering technical questions, and explaining the value of our solutions to prospects.

Solution Design & Architecture: Work with customers to understand their business challenges and requirements, and design tailored solutions using our SaaS platform to meet their needs.

Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to create compelling proposals and presentations that highlight our product’s capabilities, value proposition, and technical differentiators.

Proof of Concept (PoC) Management: Lead the technical setup and execution of PoCs or pilots to ensure the solution is configured correctly and meets the customer’s expectations.

RFP/RFI Responses: Assist with the technical sections of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive responses.

Technical Advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor for prospects and customers, providing expert guidance on product configuration, integration, and implementation.

Customer Requirement Gathering: Work closely with customers to gather and document detailed technical and business requirements, ensuring alignment between customer needs and the product’s capabilities.

Collaboration with Product Team: Provide feedback to the product and engineering teams based on customer interactions to influence product roadmaps, feature development, and bug fixes.

Training & Enablement: Provide training and technical enablement for the sales team, ensuring they have a solid understanding of our product’s technical capabilities and how to position them in different use cases.

Thought Leadership: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies, and share insights with the internal team to enhance the overall sales strategy.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role, preferably within a B2B SaaS company.

• Proven track record of successfully delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to executive-level audiences and technical stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure), APIs, and integration methods.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and relate them to business value.

• Experience managing proof of concepts (PoCs) and guiding customers through product trials or pilots.

• Proficiency with CRM and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), as well as technical documentation tools.

• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, product, and customer success teams to close deals and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Problem-solving skills with a customer-centric mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with specific industries or verticals relevant to the company’s product offering (e.g., finance, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.).

• Knowledge of common B2B SaaS sales cycles, buyer personas, and sales methodologies.

• Technical certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect).

• Experience with automation, AI, or advanced analytics solutions.
