Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000 (With flex!) DOE + Equity

I’m partnered with a next-generation AI start-up that’s building the foundation for intelligent agent automation, redefining how software executes complex workflows. Backed by $10M+ in funding and a team of exceptional engineers, they’re scaling rapidly and looking for a Lead / Principal TypeScript Engineer to take ownership of core architecture and help drive the next phase of growth.

This is a highly impactful, hands-on technical leadership role - perfect for a TypeScript expert who thrives in building elegant, high-performance systems and mentoring others around them.

 

💼 The Role:

You’ll be the technical pillar for the AI Agent Platform, working closely with the CTO and the Founding Engineer to define and implement a deeply reliable, end-to-end TypeScript architecture. You’ll guide design decisions across backend, front-end, orchestration, and developer tooling, ensuring scalability, observability, and developer joy.

You’ll lead by example: shipping high-quality code, setting engineering standards, and helping the team navigate tough architectural challenges as the product scales.

 

What you’ll do:

• Architect and build core platform systems in TypeScript - from APIs and orchestration to data layers and automation workflows
• Work hands-on with Node, Express, Prism, and ORM layers to deliver reliable and efficient infrastructure
• Work with front-end frameworks such as React and server side rendering with Next
• Lead efforts around testing, reliability, and CI/CD using frameworks like Cypress and Playwright
• Build scalable data orchestration and web scraping pipelines with durable objects and event-driven design
• Own documentation, design reviews, and mentor engineers across the stack
• Collaborate closely with Product and the CTO to shape technical direction, product roadmap, and long-term scalability

⚙️ What They’re Looking For:

• Solid commercial experience in software engineering, including leadership-level impact
• Mastery of TypeScript - full-stack understanding, backend-first mindset
• Expertise in Node.js, Express, React, Next, Prism, and modern ORMs
• Proven experience building complex APIs, data orchestration layers, or distributed systems
• Deep commitment to testing and code quality (Cypress, Playwright)
• Experience with workflow automation, durable objects, or web scraping (big plus)
• Strong architectural instincts and the ability to drive engineering culture and standards
• Product-oriented problem solver — pragmatic, collaborative, and proactive
